Thomas "Jim" James Allgood, Sr., age 74, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at his daughter's residence. He was born in Bloomington, IN on October 10, 1944, the son of Clarence Allgood & Mabel (Ragsdale) Allgood.
He really enjoyed visiting and spending time with his loving family, watching the History Channel. He was an avid photographer where he won many awards and ribbons in the fairs both at the local and state level. He loved cats, music and IU sports; was a member of the US Army Reserve and retired from Otis Elevator.
Jim is survived by his loving children, Kellie (Kevin Allen) Todd of Linton, Thomas (Michelle Mills) Allgood, Jr. of Bloomington and Angela Allgood of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Michael Bowmer of Bloomington, Nicole (Steven) King of Mitchell and Haley (Anthony) Terrell of Ellettsville; several great grandchildren and sister, Nancy Moore of Bloomfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents; great grandson, Grant King and siblings, John Allgood, Charles Allgood, Phillip Allgood, Frank Allgood, Raymond Allgood, Joe Allgood and Doris Bennett.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Thursday, September 12, 2019, with Pastor Archie Ellett officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 4-8 pm and on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
