He was a member of the Linton Jaycees, earning the Jaycee International Senatorship Award for community and charity volunteer work. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers Association and St. Peter Catholic Church.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Julie (LeFebvre) Stefancik of Linton; children, Brad (Deloris) Stefancik of Linton, Susan (Jeff) McKinly of Brownsburg and Sandra (Scott) Layer of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Brady Stefancik, Nick and Valerie Horein, Sevin Layer, Sylver Layer and Senate Layer; great granddaughter, Cambria Horein; siblings, Rudy (Daphyne) Stefancik, Dorothy (CB) Duncan, Steve (Margaret) Stefancik, Veronica (Terry) Weaver and Frank Stefancik.
