Sarah "Sally" (Byland) Dickson, 74, of Freedom, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Sally was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on July 3, 1943 to Leland and Gladis (Hayward) Byland. Sally was a loving wife, mother to many, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Sally attended, and was very active in the Friendly Open Bible Community Church of Coal City. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed entertainment, laughter and tears of raising seven spirited children. She was the best cook in the world, she was an avid generous gardener and enjoyed sharing extra produce with her friends and family. Many summer days were spent enjoying and taking care of her lawn.
Sally is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dale Dickson, daughters, Robin (Wade) Pierce of Frankfort, Kentucky, Maria (Scott) Cooper of Unionsville, Indiana, Jacki Ortez of Marksville, Louisiana, sons, Tony Trout of Indianapolis, Tim Trout of Frankfort, Kentucky, Matt "Jon" Trout of Bloomington, Indiana, Bud (Connie) Dickson of Bloomington, Indiana, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and one brother, Ken (Nell) Byland.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bob Byland and Joe Byland.
