Mary Esther Hamm, age 72, of Spencer, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington. She was born in Bloomington on October 19, 1945, the daughter of Wade & Mable (Whitaker) Hamm.
She was a 1963 graduate of Bloomington High School and attended Ivy Tech. She worked at RCA, Indiana University, and retired from General Electric, all of Bloomington.
She attended Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville. She enjoyed her family and attending gospel music gatherings.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Marceta (Troy) Gilstrap of Spencer, April Wilcoxon of Bloomington, and Debbie (Rob) Sellers of Spencer, daughter-in-law, Tammy Fleener-Bigley, a special friend, Don Dayhuff of Spencer, two brothers, Herb (Martha Ann) Hamm of Spencer and Jim Hamm of Washington State, a sister, Hope (Bobby) Whaley of Spencer, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wade Hamm, her mother, Mabel Keller, her step-father, Harold Keller, and a son, Mark Fleener.
Funeral service will be held at Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 9, 2018, Pastor Steve Von Bokern officiating. Burial will follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery in Bloomington.
Visitation will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
