Lawrence "Pee Wee" Ranard of Bloomington, passed away 12:40 P.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Garden Villa in Bloomington. He was born in Spencer on April 18, 1928, the son of James Oliver and Mary (Douglas) Ranard.
Pee Wee was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from General Electric after thirty-five years of service.
He enjoyed Indiana University baseball and basketball, loved to read and watch westerns, and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his dear friends, Easter Yeaden of Bloomington and Lowell Dean (Sue) Flynn of Harrodsburg, a sister-in-law, Judy Ranard, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul, Bennie, and Donald Ranard, and sisters, Ruth (Earl) Cooksey, Mamie Gilaspie, Myrtle Nordholt, and Nellie Campbell.
Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Dr. Allan Lewis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery in Whitehall, with military honors given by the Owen County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
