John Patrick SullivanApril 24, 1933 ~ November 30, 2017 (age 84)
John Patrick Sullivan, 84, of Freedom, passed away at his residence, Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born April 24, 1933 in Decatur, IL to James and Dorothy (McGraw) Sullivan. He was a 1955 graduate of Purdue University with an electrical engineering degree and received his MBA from Indiana University in 1959. He served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Owen County Amateur Radio Club; WD9BKA, Chair of the Owen County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Chair of the Owen County Emergency Management Advisory Council, and a long time volunteer for the Red Cross.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian (Bohlke) Sullivan of Indianapolis, children, Sean and Nathan Sullivan, both of Freedom, and Rachel (Arlen) Lehman of Indianapolis, and grandchildren, Brittany Voils, Hunter Voils, Luke Everhart, and Raelee Everhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Judy McKay.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Paul Shear will officiate. Military rites will be performed by the Spencer American Legion and VFW Posts.
Visitation will be held from 11am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
