James "Jim" Garrett Brock, 74, of Gosport, passed away very peacefully, at home on Friday, January 4, 2019. Jim was born on April 29, 1944, in Bimble, Kentucky, to Bill and Marie (Payne) Brock. At ten years of age, Jim moved with his family to Eminence area where he graduated high school and then served his country in the United States Army. He retired from UPS, then drove a charter bus for Star of America, Go Express and loved to work on his family farm. Jim was a member of the Millie McGee Diner Social Club in Gosport where they never told a lie and solved the problems of the world.
Jim is survived by his wife, whom he married on October 2, 1965, Irene F. (McCarty) Brock, daughters, Donnette and husband Don Trader of Gosport, Dana and husband Ken Miller of Shoals, grandchildren, Amanda Manson, Sarah and husband Stephen Sexton, Emily Trader, Mya Miller, three step-grandchildren, Trent, Kyle, Traci Miller, great-grandchildren, Chase, Jaxon, Aidan, Preston, Korbin and Ada Lynn who is on the way, one sister, Gracie and husband Blane Parker, and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer, Indiana.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
