Doreatha J. (Creakbaum) Meyers, 88, of Bowling Green, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice House. Doreatha was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 29, 1929, to George and Delores (Confer) Creakbaum. Doreatha worked as a medical librarian at Community Hospital in Indianapolis and then retired from Hendricks Hospital in Danville, Indiana. She was a Third Order Carmelite of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and servant of God. Doreatha was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Doreatha is survived by her children, Monica (John) Schoultz of Evanston, Illinois, Steven (Karen) Meyers of Chicago, Illinois, Pamela Betner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vincent (Cheryl) Meyers of Bowling Green, Indiana, Diane Collins of Bloomington, Indiana, Barbara (Stephen) Meyers-Cooper of Atlanta, Georgia, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister Diane Lyter and several nieces.
Doreatha was preceded in death by both parents, husband, Charles K. Meyers, siblings, Donald Creakbaum, and Doris Smith.
A private service will take place at a later date.
