Deborah "Bette" Mae (White) Trusty

Mrs. Deborah Mae "Bette" Trusty, age 91, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 11:00 pm (Indiana Time) on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Greene County General Hospital. She was born at Freeman-Greene County Hospital in Linton, Indiana on June 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry Shirley & Hazel Marie (DeCourcy) White.

Bette was a member of Grace Gospel Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a very gifted singer. She won contests locally and sang individually, at many local events, weddings and funerals in the area.  As a young girl she was offered a scholarship from The Hamilton Family to go to The Julliard School of Music in New York City.  But, she fell in love with a star Basketball player for the Linton Miners, Linton High School,  Linton, Indiana  She proudly wore the sweater given to her by her beau Earl Junior Trusty, as a symbol of her loyalty.

Bette & Junior were married November 5th 1943.  While Junior was stationed as a Paratrooper in the Pacific Theater in World War II,  Bette and their infant daughter Ruth Marie moved to Vicksburg .  After the War, she and Junior  raised their family and lived in Vicksburg for over 50 years.  Bette was a woman of strong faith in the Lord.  She loved life and as such enjoyed working a the local Cine Theater, baking her famous Date Pudding,  she loved dancing and she loved to travel.  During her lifetime she traveled many times with her family to Florida.  Bette, also, visited Nevada, California and Mexico. 

Bette was fiercely loyal to her family, most specially her children.  She was her children's biggest cheerleader. 
Bette is survived by her... 
~Children:  Son, Earl Daniel (Julia Ferrufino) Trusty of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Ruth Marie (James) Mattox of Jasonville, Debra Kay Graves of Linton, IN; 
~Grandchildren:  Marty (Julie) Mattox, Brent (Tina) Mattox, Travis Trusty; Christina Groves; 
~Great-grandchildren:   Dustin Mattox, Brooks  Mattox , Balenda, Sophia & Grace Groves; Michael Tutterow, Zachariah Scott,  Raymond Bradbury, Paige (Boaz) Price;                    Michael & Kristopher Dury; 
~Great-Great-grandchildren:  Henrietta Corbin-Mattox, Natalya Mattox, Ava Kelm, Brycen Riggan, Ella & Brynam Price 
~Sisters:  Edith Johnson of Kokomo, Sondra Kay Hotzel of New Castle, Dorothy Sowell, Josephine Whitman, Alma Bacon all of Old Bridge, New Jersey & Mary Mongeau of Parkin, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl  Junior Trusty, Sons, David Earl Trusty, and Michael Junior Trusty, Daughter-in-Law, Juanita (Sisk) Trusty, son-in-law, Marion Graves; Brothers, Bobby E. Davis of Knightstown, IN & Jack White of Long Branch, New Jersey

Visitation: Will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. 
Funeral service: Will be held at 11:00 am  on Saturday, January 13, 2018,at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, IN with PastorJeff Mair officiating. 
Burial: Will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.

Grace Gospel Church: 935 A Street NW, 47441 Linton, IN will host a reception after the burial.
