Charles "Chuck" David Lynch, age 76, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 12:45 am on Friday, January 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Linton, Indiana on February 27, 1941, the son of the late William Clifford Lynch & Eva Mae (Blough) Lynch.
Charles was a graduate of Linton High School in 1959. He was a man of many skills but most proud of his time as a master mechanic at Peabody Coal. He was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Chuck would help anyone in need if he was able to and will be missed by many. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Elsie (Hubbert) Lynch of Linton; son, David (fiance, Nikki Rhoads) Lynch of Linton; daughter, Lori (Doug) Miller of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Matthew(Megan) Miller, Chelsea (Cody) Tilford, Chris Lynch, Emily (Seth) Wiram; step-grandchildren, Jimmy Bernier, Molly (Seth) Maggard, Mark McGough, Michael McGough, Cody Rhoads, Nathaniel Rhoads, Adriana Rhoads; 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way, his sister, Connie (John) Dayhoff, his brother, John Lynch, sister-in-law, Betty (John) Gonzales, his mother-in-Law, Christine Hubbert, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded by his parents, his grandparents, brother, Paul "Bill" Lynch, and father-in-law, Reece Hubbert.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, with Pastor John Winders and Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating.Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm., and Wednesday from 10 am until the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or to Fellowship Baptist Church, through the funeral home.
