Bobbie Jo (Bailey) Wilson, age 48, of Linton, formerly of Bloomington, peacefully left this world of pain on Thursday afternoon, May 9, 2019, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, from stroke complications after a long struggle with Crohn's Disease, and Colitas. She fought like a girl.
She was born in Bloomington on February 13, 1971, the daughter of Diana (Thompson) Melvin. She attended Bloomington South High School where she was an excellent swimmer and excelled at Flag Corp. She was a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College.
Before realizing her lifetime dream of being a wife and mother, she had worked in business to business collections, database programming, and enjoyed volunteering for the Vietnam Era Veterans Alliance (VEVA). She reveled in taking her beloved son to zoos, parks, and museums. She also enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, and poker, in addition to morning coffee and motorcycle rides with her husband of nine years.
She is survived and will be sorely missed by her husband, Jonathan E. Wilson, a son, Jonathan J. Wilson, her mother, Diana Melvin of Bloomington, mother-in-law, Connie Sloan, and father-in-law, Bill (Becky) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer Bailey, and grandmother, Louise Grubb.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 am on Thursday, May 16, 2019, with James Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm, and Thursday from 10 am until the time of service.
