Often times, after the loss of a loved one, the most difficult period comes after the services are over. Your friends and loved ones have had to resume to their normal routine, and you feel at a stand still in the midst of your grief and sorrow. In addition to the emotional pain that you may be feeling, the responsibilities after a loved one passes may seem very overwhelming.
Here at Walton Funeral Service, Inc, Welch & Cornett Funeral Homes and West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, we are here to provide the service that meets you where most “perceive” the journey ends. We know it is just beginning and will walk with you throughout the rest of way or however long you want us by your side. Here are some of the free services that our aftercare provides:
When we lose a loved one, its not uncommon for us to feel as if we are in a fog. Not only can we help you fill out the paperwork, but we are willing to sit with you and physically fill out your paperwork for you. All you have to do is be present and help answer the questions needed. Here are some examples of paperwork and forms that we have helped with:
• Life Insurance
• Social Security
• Canceling utilities: cell phones, cable, Internet etc.…
Sometimes (not always) when someone passes, they may reduce or write off their medical debt. We can send a letter requesting a discount or write off and we will attach their death certificate for you. This could also be the case concerning other bills that may only be in the loved ones name or if the individual who passed was not married.
• Grief counseling (on site or in your home)
• Full access and recommendations from our new Grief library
• Help order/choose memorabilia to honor your loved one.
o Picture video
o Fingerprint jewelry
o Handwritten jewelry
o Photo blankets
We are also looking to pair with local companies/individuals who can use your loved ones items to make blankets, stuffed animals, aprons, jewelry etc....
We are always open to suggestions and looking for new ways to help our families during these tough times. Our services are extended to anyone in the community and no matter how long ago the loss has been; we still offer the same services.
